Oh….Fraser Island. How beautiful you are!
I think Fraser Island is an incredible place to visit; there are multiple reasons to love Fraser Island, including its location and size.
Its unique natural beauty and adventure qualities are also fantastic reasons to visit, and there are plenty of opportunities for activities and exploring with heaps of tours or self drive ways to explore this piece of paradise.

Fraser Island is located off of Australia’s eastern coast, near Queensland. This area is naturally beautiful with tons of things to do, both on the island and on the coast.
Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach are the main entry points for Fraser Island, however you can also get there from the central coast or Brisbane – Just a longer drive!
2) Size and Recognition
Fraser Island was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique beauty. It is also the largest sand island in the world; it stretches over 120km and is 710 square miles.
Seeing an area like this is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Can you believe it? It is all sand. So the way to get around is by 4×4.
3) It is dam Beautiful
Known for its natural beauty, Fraser Island is one of Australia’s most beautiful areas. You can get panoramic viewpoints by climbing the Indian Head, a rocky cliff on the eastern side of the island, and see all kinds of sand dunes.
You can also check out the Cathedrals, the Pinnacles, or the Rainbow Gorge to see incredible multi-coloured sand.
In addition, you will have fantastic views of the surrounding ocean, with turquoise blue water with great panorama views. Depending on the season, you will also see all kinds of wildflowers, as well as incredible lakes and rainforests.
4) A Real Adventure Tour
I think the best way to explore the island is by a tour; the guide will take you to the best spots and you will have the opportunity to see incredible wildlife on the island and depending on the tour; go on a cruise.
If you are looking for a trip located away from the city with an “adventure” feel, Fraser Island is definitely the spot to visit. From the time you get on the island, there are no paved roads; so like I said before you have to use four-wheel drive to get everywhere on the island.
You are able to stay in luxurious resorts if you would like to; however, you can also sleep under the stars at a variety of camping locations, including Lake Boomanjin, Dili Village, or Cathedral Beach.
If you are looking for a way to get off of the beaten path and experience incredible natural beauty, Fraser Island is the perfect place for you to visit, make friends and explore the beauty of this island. You can also discover all kinds of wildlife, including turtles, whales, kangaroos, wallabies and maybe the most famous local resident – the Dingo!
This guy is everywhere but be careful not to feed him as that can create a begging situation. For an unparalleled fishing experience, you can check out Fraser Island’s famous 75-mile beach, or take a boat trip out behind Indian Head.
