Wonder how to Pack For Your Travels To Australia?
There’s lots to think about, lots of stuff you want and need (no, sometimes those do not overlap) and then there’s the stuff that you’re not sure you’ll need so you pack it anyway and end up wasting space and time and by the end you’re in a puddle of tears.
Well, hopefully you aren’t that dramatic, but pick yourself up off the floor because we’re going to give you some tips on how to pack for your travels to Australia.

Check The Weather
Look, Australia has a reputation for being incredible hot and while that’s mostly the case in the summer, it’s not the case in some places (mountains, I’m talking to you) and in the winter some places genuinely get cold.
So the first thing you need to do in order to pack for your travels to Australia is to check the weather everywhere you’re going.
If it’s a shoulder season, you may find it’s quite changeable and you’ll want some heavier or lighter items depending on which end of the seasons you’re in.
Don’t be that person standing out in the freezing cold wearing shorts and whining, “but I thought Australia was supposed to be hot!”
Pack A Light Jacket
If you’re going in the summer or going to part of the country where it’s hot you should still pack a light jacket because you never know when the temperatures might dip down in the night.
You also might want the jacket if you’re spending a lot of time indoors where air conditioning will be running at full power.
And if you’re still not convinced, we’re pretty certain you’ll want that light jacket on your long flight over to Australia.
Pack At Least Two Paris Of Shoes
Regardless of the season you should always pack at least two pairs of shoes. One pair should be seasonal (so warm shoes or flip flops/something for the beach) and a pair of suitable walking shoes.
Regardless of where you’re going, you’re likely to want to do some outdoor exploring so having a pair of solid, good walking shoes is going to make all the difference, regardless of season.
Bring A Hat
If you’re going in the summer or to a hot area of the country you are going to want a hat, no matter what.
The sun can be really brutal in Australia and honestly even with sunscreen you’re going to feel like a snowman melting into a puddle.
Having a hat will keep the sun out of your eyes, off your face and make you feel (marginally) cooler. Every little bit helps.
Packing for your travels to Australia doesn’t need to be stressful but you need to be practical.
Look at each item you plan on bringing and if you can’t think of a specific circumstance in which you might wear it, don’t bring it.
Be sure to check the weather and plan according and you’ll be fine. Now enjoy your travels to this awesome country and be prepared to do it!
